Medivac bill is a ‘marketing material’ for people smugglers: Coleman

The proposed bill to streamline medical transfers from offshore processing centres ‘gives people smugglers a very strong piece of marketing material’, according to the Immigration Minister David Coleman. Mr Coleman says the legislation gives incentive to people smugglers due to the fact it would apply to any future asylum seeker arrivals to Manus Island and Nauru.
