Man and woman face court following violent Brisbane carjacking

A man and woman have appeared in court following a violent carjacking in Brisbane’s Chermside West. On Wednesday afternoon, the man approached a woman who was standing next to her car containing her two children, and proceeded to threaten them with a knife and axe before stealing their car. The 24-year-old man then fled in the car, sparking a manhunt across Brisbane. The car eventually broke down after officers were forced to use road spikes on the Gateway Motorway. The man and his 23-year-old female passenger were arrested, and face various charges including armed robbery and evading police.
