Berejiklian brushes questions on rebel MP Tanya Davies after sex selection abortion change rejected
September 19, 2019. NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian speaks to reporters in Sydney, fielding questions on amendments to a bill decriminalising abortion in NSW after a contentious move to ban sex-selective abortions was rejected in a late-night upper house session. In reference to Tanya Davies, the Premier is asked if it is concerning “that one of your MPs is almost holding you and your government to ransom”. Ms Berejiklian rejects the notion and says “this is a conscience vote”. I am entirely relaxed about the process,” Ms Berejiklian says. Asked if she can afford for Ms Davies to move to the cross bench Ms Berejiklian says she doesn’t deal in hypotheticals. (AAP Video/Andrew Leeson)
