Brexit will ‘lower trade barriers with the UK’

Trade, Tourism and Investment Minister Simon Birmingham says Brexit will “lower some of the barriers to trade with the UK”. “Doing away with some of the quotas and tariff regimes that they currently have with their EU relationship is a real opportunity and we want to seize that,” Mr Birmingham told Sky News on Wednesday. “We’ve proven that by doing these types of trade agreements, we can lift exports, grow Australia’s trade surplus and by doing that, underpin jobs and our economic strength.” Image: News Corp Australia
